why do i do it?

Political violence forced my family away from their home countries. The destruction of the Venezuelan democracy forced me also to leave the once prosperous country to finish my studies in the USA, France, and lastly in my home in Hungary. As a lawyer working in public law and human rights, I came to Hungary to study constitutional law at CEU in 2011, during the period of constitutional change led by FIDESZ. I witnessed the deterioration of democracy in Venezuela and then in Hungary. In 2018, the Hungarian government set up strict conditions for CEU to operate, which led to the university being forced out of Hungary. In a crowd of over 4,000 people, I made my most significant commitment that gets me up every day:

After years of working for movements and political parties in Europe, I find myself today in Brussels, at the center of Europe. Like many of you, I am witnessing how the extremes are destroying our societies and how basic principles of freedom are being threatened. Companies are not prosperous, societies are back to mistrusting each other, and a lack of innovation makes us followers and not leaders.

As the Hungarian and European man I am today, my mission is to share my knowledge and the experience I gained on the front line with leaders and organisations around the world who are willing to defend a Free Europe, a Prosperous Europe, a Competitive Europe. Together, we can do it!
